Fibromyalgia is one of my “imaginary enemies.” I don’t even know when I was diagnosed, but one day I noticed it magically appeared, added to my long list of suspect maladies. No one had ever said a word or tried to treat it. Lately, I am not really even sure I believe that I have it – so many of these illnesses have overlapping symptoms. Most of them carry a HUGE stigma. I’ve spent more time distancing myself from it, because, quite frankly, I am so sick of it all.
Right now – I am in pain and having gastric distress – maybe I actually do have fibromyalgia, in addition to Chronic Fatigue, Hashimoto’s and Complex PTSD. Didn’t realize that IBS was a big symptom – so I am researching – Found this great blog for those who suffer. Hope you find the answers you are searching for.
Today, I would like to speak about Gastrointestinal problems which are part of the big 6. In other words, the big 6 are symptoms which almost everybody with Fibromyalgia complains of.
Firstly, The Gastrointestinal system consists of the mouth, the esophagus, the stomach, the small intestine and the large intestine. Additionally, the pancreas, liver and gall bladder are also involved. Digestion starts in the mouth where the first enzymes are secreted to start the process of breaking food down into their component parts: Fats, Carbohydrates and Proteins.
Gastrointestinal Problems are the problems effecting your stomach, colon, intestines and esophagus and can manifest as many different illnesses: from Gastric Reflux Syndrome to Irritable Bowell Symptom, to generalized bloating to generalized gas or any type of pain in the stomach, colon or intestine.
